Kelly is a principal based in Rothstein Kass’ Walnut Creek office. She specializes in serving clients in the investment partnership, investment manager, and oil and gas segments of the financial services industry. She is primarily responsible for a diverse set of clients in California, Texas and other surrounding states. Kelly’s experience includes advising clients on initial organizational structure, supervision of audits and ongoing consultation with management regarding various operational and audit matters. Kelly is a certified public accountant in Texas, New York, New Jersey and Oregon.

Prior to joining Rothstein Kass, Kelly accumulated Big Four experience at Ernst & Young in Dallas. In 2002, Kelly joined Rothstein Kass to open the Texas practice as a manager. Her management and professional capabilities facilitated the success of the Firm’s Dallas-based financial services practice and, as a testament to her leadership and dedication, she was promoted to principal in 2004. In 2008, Kelly transitioned from managing the Firm’s Dallas-area operations to contributing to the continuing growth of the Walnut Creek practice as a principal.

Kelly received a B.S. in accounting from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is also involved with various non-profit organizations.


Erin C. Ross
Watershed Asset Management

Erin C. Ross. Ms. Ross serves as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Watershed Asset Management, L.L.C., a San Francisco based alternative investment manager. Ms. Ross has been with Watershed since September 2005. Prior to joining Watershed, Ms. Ross was a corporate associate with Davis Polk & Wardwell from August 2001 to August 2005. Ms. Ross earned a bachelor’s degree in 1997 from the University of Michigan, high distinction and high honors in political science, and a J.D. degree in 2001 from the Columbia University School of Law, where she was a James Kent Scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.  Ms. Ross is a member of the California bar and lives with her husband Brandon and one year old son Gabriel in San Francisco , California .

Patricia Watters
Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company

As Chief Operating Officer since 2002, Patricia Watters oversees investment operations for PAAMCO, a registered investment adviser for funds of hedge funds managing over $10 billion for large institutional clients. She guides the investment operations team and external resources to support a fully-integrated, company-wide approach to investment management. She is responsible for creating, funding, and accounting for investment structures. In her role as Chief Compliance Officer, Patricia develops and monitors internal policies to assure regulatory compliance for the US and Europe offices. Patricia is a member of the firm and sits on the Investment Management and Account Management committees. She also serves as a director for several investment funds.

Patricia earned her PhD and MA in Financial Economics from the University of California and also holds BA and MA degrees in Economics from the University of Nevada.

Event Details:

An esteemed panel of hedge fund managers and institutional investors will engage in
a discussion centered on industry best practices and principles for hedge fund
managers. In particular, the panelists will address what investors currently expect
from hedge fund managers in terms of infrastructure investment, compliance controls,
disclosure and transparency, as well as counterparty credit risk measurement and
monitoring practices. As part of the discussion, the panelists will highlight
certain recommendations found in both MFA's Sound Practices for Hedge Fund Managers
and the reports by the President's Working Group on Financial Markets Private Sector
Committees.

Panelists:

Jerome S. Contro - Chief Operating Officer, Crosslink Capital

Jerome joined Crosslink in 2008 as Chief Operating Officer. Crosslink is
an SEC registered investment advisor that manages approximately $1.4
billion in both public and private securities. It was formed in 1998 and
is based in san Francisco. Previously, he was a Partner at Tango for
nine years, a private investment company that focuses on both the public
and private equity markets, where he led successful venture capital
investments in ServiceMagic, IZZE Beverage and The Generations Network.
Before that he worked for John Nuveen & Co. (1983-1998), an investment
management firm with over $150 billion in assets, where he served in a
number of management roles including marketing, finance, compliance and
product development in both the firm's retail and institutional
businesses. He currently is a trustee of the Janus Funds. Jerome has a
B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from University of Michigan
and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Carol Lokey, CPA, CFA, - Chief Financial Officer, Steelhead Partners, LLC

Carol is the Chief Financial Officer of Steelhead Partners LLC, a Seattle-based,
SEC-registered investment advisor. Steelhead was formed in 1996 to launch Steelhead
Navigator Fund, a long/short equity hedge fund. More recently, the firm added a
fund in the convertibles space and currently has approximately $1 billion under
management. Carol manages the firm's accounting, finance, compliance and operational
functions. Before joining Steelhead, she was Vice President of Finance at Orca Bay
Capital, a private investment company and family office. Prior to that, she was CFO
at Frazier & Company, a Seattle-based venture capital firm focused on the healthcare
industry. Carol has been a CPA since 1983 and a CFA charterholder since 2005. She
graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in accounting.

James F. Tomeo - Chief Operating Officer, SSARIS Advisors, LLC

James is Chief Operating Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager at SSARIS Advisors, LLC. He is responsible for all facets of the firm's business including portfolio management, strategic planning, and product development. He heads the firm's Fund of Funds Investment Committee. Prior to assuming his role with SSARIS, James was with RXR Capital Management, Inc.

James is a member of the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets ('CISDM") and is the US representative to the Education and Research Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association ("AIMA") based in Europe. He is the former Chairman of the International Committee of the Managed Funds Association ("MFA") and was previously on the advisory board of Institutional Investor Japan.

Before joining RXR, James worked for Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette as an alternative investment consultant and the LTV Corporation in New York. He established himself as a Japan specialist early in his career.

James graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, the University of Hartford with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, and the Institute of International Studies and Training (Japanese business study program) in 1988. He studied International Finance and Capital Markets at New York University.

James is on the Board of Visitors at the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business and is active in the formation of a Leadership Center at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is a former Board member of the Council of Churches and Synagogues, and has volunteered with Adopt-a-House, Senior Neighborhood Support Services, and the Food Bank of Fairfield County in Connecticut.

Carter W. Dunlap Jr.
Dunlap Equity Management

Carter W. Dunlap Jr., Portfolio Manager, formed the predecessor of Dunlap Equity Management, LLC in 1990 and Dunlap Capital Partners, L.P. in 1995. Mr. Dunlap has over 25 years of public and private market experience as both a portfolio manager and a securities analyst. In 1987 and 1988, he was a portfolio manager with Soros Fund Management, managing the Quantum Fund, then a $2.4 billion global hedge fund. Mr. Dunlap was a portfolio manager and vice-president at G.T. Capital Management, a $6 billion San Francisco based global investment adviser, from 1984 to 1987. From 1982 to 1984, Mr. Dunlap was a Securities analyst specializing in the computer software industry for Robertson, Stephens & Company, a San Francisco based investment bank. From 1978 to 1980, Mr. Dunlap was a Securities analyst at Trust Company of the West, an investment advisory firm.

Mr. Dunlap obtained his M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School in 1982 and a B.A. degree in economics and finance from University of Southern California in 1978. He is a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco, and a director of the Pimco Strategic Global Government Fund, a NYSE closed end bond fund.


Adam Epstein
Enable Growth Partners

Mr. Epstein is a Co-Founder and Principal of Enable Capital Management, LLC, a San Francisco-based investment firm which provides equity and debt financing to publicly-traded growth companies; the firm has undertaken over 500 such financings since its beginnings in 2003.

Prior to co-founding Enable, he was Non-Executive Chairman of Surge Components, Inc., which acquired MailEncrypt, Inc., a Los Angeles-based provider of web-based, encrypted email services, where he was MailEncrypt's then President and CEO. Prior to Mr. Epstein's leadership tenure at MailEncrypt, he was Senior Vice President, and General Counsel of Tickets.com, Inc., an entertainment ticketing company based in Costa Mesa, CA, where he was one of the first ten employees. Outside of the technology realm, he was also co-founder and director of Achilles' Wheels, Inc., an operator of in-line skate/snowboard/hockey retail locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Epstein started his career as an attorney at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, after having been a law clerk at Willkie Farr & Gallagher. He has appeared on, among other networks, CNN and ABC News, lectured and written extensively about law and entrepreneurship, and, in November 1999, was featured on the cover of The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Epstein received his B.A., cum laude, from Vassar College, and also received a J.D. from Boston University.


Wayne Smith
Touchstone Investment Managers

Wayne Smith is the Chief Operating Officer of Touchstone Investment Managers, LLC, a Portland based long/short hedge fund with ~$325m under management. He has been working at theme based, fundamental hedge funds for the last 10 years, focused primarily on US equities. Wayne attended Harvard University for his undergraduate studies and Northeastern University for his MBA and MS in accounting. He has worked as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche, LP in Boston and as an Associate with Coopers & Lybrand, LP and Commonwealth Capital Ventures, a venture capital firm. During his final two years with C&L, Wayne worked in the Financial Advisory Services Group performing due diligence, valuation, and forensic accounting assignments. Wayne is a Chartered Financial Analyst and was formerly a Certified Public Accountant.


David Welch
TraderSource

Mr. Welch has been involved with Managed Futures and Alternative Investments for almost two decades. For most of the 1990's Mr. Welch co-founded and ran two Commodity Trading Advisors (CTA's). One of the programs traded the S&P 500 exclusively; whereas, the other program traded a diversified portfolio that participated in over 30 different futures markets.

At the beginning of 2000, Mr. Welch with his background in the futures markets and system design, co-founded TraderSource which provides investment management and consulting services in regards to managed futures and foreign exchange trading. TraderSource currently allocates approximately $180mm to a diverse group of managed futures and FX traders that participate in over 80 different markets.
